About Us
The Kogi State Scholarship Board was established by Edict No. 13 of 1998 assented to by the then Military Administrator of Kogi State. The Board is primarily responsible for awarding scholarships and bursaries to qualified Kogi State Indigenes in institutions of learning within Nigeria and Abroad.
Other key functions of the Scholarship Board as enshrined in the Edict are as follows:
- To award scholarship and bursaries and other financial assistance to candidates of Kogi State origin who obtain admission into institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.
- To select and submit to the Executive Governor through the Commissioner of Education candidates of Kogi State origin who satisfy the conditions of the award of scholarship overseas.
- To recommend and review policies and initiate programs on the award of scholarships.
- To advise the Executive Governor on any matter relating to the award of Scholarships.
- To prepare the yearly budget for the Board.
